Two half centuries by Ryan and Mark Barnes for Heyside were the highlights of the match in a close finish against Stayley at Millbrook and Heyside still head the league table despite a surprise defeat but they have now lost their points advantage over Bamford Fieldhouse who have a match in hand and who notched up a maximum points win, beating Greenfield by an impressive 212 runs. Darren Shadford’s score of 83 for Bamford, proved to be the highest score of the day. Kingston of Moorside also scored 83.
There’s no stopping Glodwick whose win against Austerlands, now puts them in sixth place in the league table having won five of their last seven games. Professional, Imran Aslam returned the best bowling figures of the day with six wickets for 24 runs.
Droylsden too are hopefully back on the winning trail following a dreadful first half to the season. They dismissed Saddleworth for 147 and replied successfully with the loss of five wickets.
Hubert Lloyd Kingston scored 83 not out for Moorside who judged their declaration to perfection, winning by ten runs as time ran out for Shaw. Shaun Dean scored 51 not out for Shaw. Moorside now lie in fourth place in the league table just three points behind Uppermill who had an open date.
Rain stopped play at Friarmere, the game against Hollinwood ending in a draw.
