Saddleworth produced the finest win for many a season in humbling the League champions, Bamford. Thanks to the bowling of Steve Holmes and professional Peter Skuse, who each took four wickets for 13 runs, the home side fell just three runs short of Saddleworth’s low total of 99.
An all-round performance from Zeeshan Khan - 5 for 24 and 40 with the bat, helped Uppermill to their first win of the season against Glodwick. Alex Griffiths top scored for Uppermill with 70 and Mike Brookes also scored a half century for the winners.
Mike Radcliffe scored 79 for Droylsden but their total of 155 all out still fell a hundred runs short of the target set by Shaw. Dave Andrews for Shaw scored 91, the highest knock of the day.
Dave and Chris Oldfield - 5 for 21 and 3 for 7, eased Austerlands to a comfortable home win against Heyside and the early League leaders, Hollinwood gained points at home to Moorside who are lying in joint second place along with Austerlands’ victims Heyside.
A half century from Greenfield’s Ryan Nurse assisted Greenfield in a first innings double century but it was no where near enough as Alex Peters 75 not out and Lou Adair 63 coasted Stayley past their total with the loss of only four wickets.
