Heyside narrowly lost to visitors East Lancashire in the 1st Round.. After restricting the powerful East Lancs batting side which included West Indian test player Brandon Nash to 238 in their 45 overs.. Heyside replied with 219... Unfortunately Heyside conceded 38 extras, mostly leg side wides when the visitors batted and this proved too costly in the final analysis.

Following Heysides departure to East Lancashire our other teams Saddleworth and Austerlands lost in the 1st round, both away to Earby (Ribblesdale League) and Egerton (Bolton League ) respectively. Uppermill however had a thrilling win over Great Harwood (Ribblesdale League)and then went on to a fine win away to Hindley St.Peters (Manchester Association).in round 2.....Bamford Fieldhouse having had a bye in the 1st Round lost agonisingly by 1 run away to Ramsbottom (Lancashire League) in the 2nd round. When the 3rd round was played in mid June on a rain affected day Uppermill away again, this time to Greenmount (Bolton League) progressed to the 4th Round by way of winning a "Bowl Out"
