Umpire Appeal

The League are desperately short of Umpires, so if any of you OLD cricketers still creaking along or recently retired players fancy keeping in touch how about taking up the white coat... ( white sticks provided by the League)... Come on you have all grumbled at times about 2nd team games not having two umpires or expressed your opinion at various times about umpiring decisions so put it to the test and see what it's really like... You never know you might enjoy it!

Clubs are also reminded that it is their responsibility to nominate a spare Umpire to officiate in home games but as usual when it doesn't suit somebody the League rules are ignored. Perhaps we should follow the example of the Huddersfield League where when there is only one Umpire the home team either provide one or they have to nominate a player to officiate for the whole match and play with 10 men...... Ouch !!!! do I hear some Clubs saying?
